THE 69 EYES – to release new album »Death Of Darkness« on April 21st;
pre-orders available + »Gotta Rock« tours in early 2023!
The wait is finally over! Today, Helsinki, Finland‘s longest serving gothic rock vampires, THE 69 EYES, have come out of their crypt announcing their new studio album titled »Death Of Darkness.« The record will see the light of day on April 21st, 2023 via Atomic Fire Records (worldwide excl. Finland, where it will be released by Vallila Music House), while physical versions will only be available from May 5th, 2023 in the US.
“We started to make this album single by single, releasing stand-alone track first, then an EP and now eventually the whole album. The method kept everything fresh and us on our toes while recording and writing new music. Our main aim was to get THE 69 EYES back to Finnish airwaves. Our music is still on the radio but it’s mostly over 15 year old classics. How about new ones? The first single, ‘Drive,’ made this happen and we hit the jackpot here in Finland by being a part of the »Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert« mainstream TV music show format! Now THE 69 EYES are back in the spotlight and Finland’s top rock band are playing sold-out shows again,” comments THE 69 EYES front-man Jyrki 69.
»Death Of Darkness« was recorded and produced by Erno Laitinen at Inkfish Studios (Helsinki, Finland). Miles Walker took care of its mixing at Westside Sound Studios (Atlanta, GA; USA) alongside Erno Laitinen while mastering duties were handled by Tom Baker. The accompanying artwork was created by UK based artist Adrian Baxter (PARADISE LOST, THE HALO EFFECT, MAYHEM a.o.).
