Since forming in 1987, the Swedish sound architects known as Meshuggah developed into one of the most technically complex and virtuosic group of players the metal realm has ever encountered, their distinctly unique brand of  progressive groove-infused death metal inadvertently launching an entirely new subgenre. Indeed, the band’s 1991 „Contradictions Collapse“ debut briefly interrupted the earth’s rotation. Fans and critics globally listened in collective amazement. The band’s marked technical prowess and penchant for unorthodox yet hypnotic time signatures which often can not be grasped upon first listen, complimented by the commanding howls of vocalist/guitarist Jens Kidman became the band’s trademark. And each record to follow reached dizzying new heights in ingenuity. It’s not clear whether the band members practice daily for hours on end to achieve such intricate structures, but it is certain that for MESHUGGAH there remains new terrain to explore. In 2016 the Band kicked off their successful „The Violent Sleep Of Reason“ record, since then fans wait for new studio supplies – and will get this before summer of 2022.
